(I have seen houses that do not have them all connected because the cable TV installer got lazy). Hopefully, you have plugged both ends of your MoCA into "active" jacks.If you do, then the lines run in a crazy way.and you need to find another place for the PoE filter. Try removing the PoE filter and see if you connect.If the above works, you have to troubleshoot the cabling. Verify you have an IP address and connected to the internet.Connect a coax cable between the two MoCA adapters.

The WiFi symbol in my diagram represents the cable from the street bringing internet, I didn't know how to represent it but I realized later that it could cause confusion lol woops I do think I need to explore the cabling a bit more, that's gonna be the first thing I do when I get home tonight. So after I made my modifications the splitter is not currently being used - does it need to be included? My diagram shows the current setup after I did some modifications before I added the MoCA adapters, the downstairs setup was as follows (and there was nothing in any other room using any sort of wired connection, coax or Ethernet):Ĭoax cable from street > 2 way splitter > modem router // coaxial connection to (I assume) rest of the house The coax LEDs on both MoCA adapters are lighting up yellow (or at least I believe so, it's hard to tell when both the power and coax LEDs are on since the power one lights bright green, but I do see a yellow coax LED light even with just the coax plugged in). I have accessed the IPv4 properties of the Ethernet and both "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically."Īs a new renter of the house, I'm not 100% knowledgeable on the coaxial wiring throughout the house - is the cabling that is unknown to me be a cause of this?
